Strange check engine light
When I jump the plug, the code comes up as a code 1 so its an o2 sensor. The strange thing is that the code doesnt repeat. It will just flash one time, then to read the code again I have to turn the key off and the back on. Does anyone know why it does not repeat the code? The car is a bone stock 2000 civic ex. Thanks for your help.

If it doesnt repeat itself then you dont have anything wrong with your car. Does the CEL come on when you drive your car? How long does it take to come on if it does?

The cel is always on when the car is running. When I check the code it flashes once then the light stays on. If there is not a problem with the o2 whats wrong?

Re: Strange check engine light
are you sure your testing the CEL correctly and got the right connector? It should be a 2 wire connector and all you have to do is short it with a paper clip. then turn the key and the CEL should flash once then start giving the code and it should repeat itself over and over until you take the clip out or turn the car off. and also try to reset the ecu like Stock_SOCH said

Yes I am jumping it right, the light went off today after being on for a week. If the light comes back on I will rest the ecu and see what happens. Thank you for your help

Maybe the ECU is throwing both code 1 and code 0, the latter of which is indicated by the CEL remaining ON steady (no blinks) when the service connector is jumped. Code 0 indicates a problem with the ECU or its circuit.
When the CEL returns, you also might considering driving the car to AutoZone and have them pull the codes with an OBDII scan tool.
