Default straight pipe, or high flow cat

j/w what the difference was if any, my new exhaust setup for my turbo build is goin to
be a megan racing drift spec, and i need a cat. dont wanna plug up my turbo so i was gonna
get a high flow cat, or should i just weld flanges on some exhaust i have to save money?
main question tho, are high flow cats hollow or resonated...

Catalytic converters are not hollow ( they are if you punch them ).

they look like this ( this one is a high flow )

And to answer your question regarding straight pipe or cat.

I personally would go with a catalytic converter. Specially with how strict the laws are where I live with 2nd fine being $ 5000.

So its really your choice. Drive with peace of mind, or knock down a few rpms in spool.

High Flow Cat, makes your car sound better imo. I removed mine and my car sounds like **** now. Before it was a deep low not a very loud tone, and it didn't sound like a fart can...

so from the downpipe of my turbo i should have a high flow cat/ then the megan drift
spec and i'll b good, not too loud and no rasp? i don't wanna sound like a ricer, or like
i have a fart can, i wanna b deep and aggressive, especially under boost and in vtec

High flow cats, have some restriction. My stock cat was all messed up and burned out because of my rods knocking (replaced engine) and it shot oil into it. Before my car was really deep and sounded good not like a bee in a coffee can, even when I hauled ***.

I told them to just remove it, figuring it would make my car sound better, and my car is so loud and obnoxious now. Sounds horrible. Though if you run a straight pipe, it's little more power, but i'd rather lose a little power and sound good, then gain and sound like ****

Then again I have dual exhaust, not even sure of the brand, it was all custom when I bought it.

There's also a Direct Fit High-Flow Catalytic Converter

Don't mind the 06+ Si, it fits from older to newer models.

For a turbo setup, you should go with something a little bigger than 2" .

Whats the size of your DP ? if its 3" go with a 3" cat and 3" piping.

If its 2.5" then go with a 2.5" cat and 2.5" piping.

Get a cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

I've had a test pipe before and I didn't feel any difference over my Magnaflow High Flow Catalytic Converter in my B16A.

Plus with a test pipe anyone behind you will smell your nasty exhaust gas. Not very hot.

^^ I agree , if your running a a descent turbo ( not a T25 or smaller ) then 3" will have it gains.

But if you have a 2.75 to 2.5 " exhaust that should be okey, because the expense of going 3" adds up quick. .

you said above your inlet outlet for the ca is 2" ? if so just get a shop to adapt a 2.5 " to work.

or go 3" all the way if you have the extra funds

i'm using my stock cat that i hollowed out. i have gotten many compliments on the sound of my setup

omenspeedworks dseries miniram, .57trim t3/t4, 2.5in stainless welded DP, hollow stock cat to a 2.5in higher dollar ebay exhaust

my car is semiloud with a great tone, the exhaust does not smell bad and i don't have any backfiring issues
