STR cam sprockets slipped.
My STR cam sprocket slipped, so the tunning that was done to my car was a waist. Yes it was tighten by the tuner shawn church, its not his fault str sprockets have a weak material, weak bolts that bend when you tighten. I tried contacting them for three days now, and know one is there. It rings and rings, I heard they made new and improved bolts but If I cannot contact them then whats the point. So what's a good sprocket AEM? for H22

Re: STR cam sprockets slipped. (Trbospnkr)
Skunk2 cam gears are reliable for an h22. That sucks. That hapenned to my friends car with those sprockets. But he was at the track!! Lucky for him nothing happened to his motor. But that is rediculus!!!!! I have another friend who had an str throttle body.He was sponsered by them(this was a full race 2.4L gs-r crx)They finally got the motor done and strapped it to the dyno.......I screw came loose on the throttle plate during a dyno pass and boom!It sucked it through all4 cilynders. I have read alot of good things about str products, and many people carry them. I have also had some bad experiences as well.....

Re: STR cam sprockets slipped. (nasi)
Dude don't even remind me of the throttle body, I had a hell of a time with my 70mm str throttle body. Just to get it to work, no tps wrong gasket, my car started to idle all fucked up. I got a JG edlebrock one with a tps sensor, works great

damn that scares me. I am using an str cam gear and I haven't had any problems yet, but I don't want it to slip. Are you sure the bolts were tightened down tight enough? There are five bolts so I wouldn't think it would slip.

I honestly don't have any problems with mine. I even ran with the bolts somewhat loose before when I didn't have the correct tool to tighten them down completely tight. I was tightening them with a 7mm socket and it would always pop off once they got somewhat tite like it didn't fit. Later I found out that it needed to be a 1/4" box wrench . Anyways when they weren't tight my cam gear still never budged.
