i've thought it about it when i removed my rear compartments. i was also thinking about taking the rear compartment and rear panel out and just recarpet it so the metal frame and wires don't show. i've seen it done before and it looks ok.

Man you should just go for it. It won't cost much and you could do it in an afternoon.
If you do it post up some pics, I'd like to see how it turns out.

That sounds like a good idea. MDF should work good for what your looking to do. I mean if you can make a speaker box out of it box in the fuel pump.
