why do you have to take it to the police station?

vin on the dash seems fairly possible. worry about the vin on the door jam matchin the one in the engine bay.

as far as vin on motor depending on what year swap it is its not gonna have one on there. if im not mistaken it'll have a label/sticker on tranny housing. if its stolen take them to who you bought the car from atleast let them get in trouble.

Dont Be A Snitch!!! And take the cops directly to their house! Tell your side of the story and thats it nothing more nothing less.

what are they going to do to if it is stolen? take out the motor and give the car back. Fine learn your lesson and take action into your own hands, or let it be a lesson and next time buy it from a legit person.

Are you sure the car is not stolen? His name on his ID and the Pink slip are the same?

If its OBD1 or JDM it wont even have one. But if its OBD2 USDM it should. The dash VIN would worry me more than anything else.

I hate thieves also! At the same time if I saw someone breaking into my car, a neighbors car or friends car believe the cops would be the last person I call!

WTF you want me to wait for the damn cops to get there when it takes them 5 min? your crazy Im taking the law into my own hands till they get there.
