STOLEN EG! Want to give the cops my engine #
So my EG got stolen a couple years ago. I got it back stripped of the engine, wheels and all that, anyways, before it got stolen I wrote down the tranny and block number.
I understand that the CA police go to car shows and match up numbers to ones reported stolen and I want to give them my engine/tranny number.
I'm in AZ but most of that **** filters back to CA or anywhere in the US.
Does anyone know if there is a database for stolen engine numbers on the CA police website or something I can look at online?

I think your screwed because like you mentioned, this happened a couple of years ago. I think something like this would have t be reported with the origional police report, not a couple years later.. But good luck anyway..

Yeah I wish I could have reported it at the time too, but the paper I had it written down on was lost, I thought it was long gone but I found it among a bunch of crap the other day.

most of the these units are special task force if the city or county has the funds to pay for the extra activities let alone any overtime (special units there is always overtime or else no one would do the work,,same thing goes with tickets,,, they are always on the officers day off>>hence over time for him/her)
if there is no money for overtime or the personnel to pull into these task forces it will never be done.
then it boils down to:
whats more important gang warfare, their drug empire, why the senseless shootings? or going to car shows and such and looking for stolen car parts?
which of the two impacts the citizens more? well we all know the answer. hence keep your stuff safe.
the gang units are a solid funded unit the car stings are only operated if there are extra funds to support the work.

Contact the California Highway Patrol.... they have a list engine and VIN numbers that are stolen. Also, if you want to buy a used motor, you can call them to verify the numbers to make sure they're not stolen.

Well I am going to post these numbers up here just because honda-tech is so huge.
It was a 92 B16 Si-R II with the optional LSD Tranny
Block number is : 1407268
Tranny number is : Y21-1025840
I just want the numbers out there to make it a little harder for the thieves or the ******* who have my ****.
I didnt post this because I think im going to get my engine back, I just thought its a vital piece of info to make it harder on thieves
If you guys couls all copy this down an dhave it for reference, that'd be cool, thanks guys

There should be a Sticky made for these block numbers to be posted; this way, people who have their stuff stolen can immediately post them in the thread and thieves would be more hardpressed to sell the stuff.

I totally agree with you. I think the thieve situation is bad enough that we need a stick of identification numbers!
Also, I always see requests for a seperate "stolen car" forum but honda-tech never did it. I wonder why?

I just saw this and thought I'd share...
Club4AG.com has a "stolen/missing" forum already. And their crap is just starting to get stolen due to the whole drifting AE86/240 craze.
Why the hell doesnt honda-tech have a stolen forum?
I really want to know, Mods....?
