Re: (shearinfinity)
**UPDATE
Car was recovered about 36 hours later. Missing the stereo, dvd, amp, box, tripod gauges, fog lights, side markers and air intake. Doing so they ripped the front bumper off, messed up the back bumper and tore off the dash grey cover trying to get to the stereo, and tore the jdm console for the same reason. And well the ignition was screwed too.
They couldn't find the kill switch, tried to rewire the fuel pump, and ended up using another car to push it about 5 miles down from my house down some side streets.
I'd say less than 1k in damages. better loss than the entire car considering I drove it home right from where we found it. Still had rims and head/taillights and all.

hang in there. It sucks, my boyfriend's eg6 got stolen a few months ago out of his driveway and he was pretty upset but now he's got an integra and he loves it. Look at this as an opportunity to start fresh. Best of luck to ya.

to get more eyes out for it or the parts.
edit: nevermind, just read further down and saw it was found

Dude, you are one of the few and proud that can say you got your car back at all! Most steal, ditch, and torch the thing...but good job on the kill switch and all. So I'm guessing you didn't have a pager alarm system? Have seen those car boots? LOL

Re: (blk92_d16)
You know I haven't really looked at the car much since I got it back, I'm still working on a couple other projects. I'm not really sure how they got passed the alarm, they might have cut the power to it or the siren if they poped the hood before they got in, I know how I would have done it, you never know, they could have done the same thing. No power backup on the alarm which is my fault. But live and learn I guess.
The engine is mostly stock, well except for the intake they took... well i guess its stock now. haha. well and an exhaust it has still. But it's like slow of the slow cx engine. I bet that really pissed them off haha, looks fast but it's my daily driver. I use it mainly for small parts pickup and crap. If I want faster I'd drive my Z or 240 lol. I'd estimate ohh a good 50hp engine probably, what you think, a 15 yr old d15b8 stock with 70hp when it was new about 250k miles ago.. engine runs great, no leaks, burning, smells or smoke. but still old. lol.

I was actually thinking about those boots lol. Didn't have the pager alarm, most the time the car is right infront of us at the shop were we work, and don't come home till almost dawn most days but its not worth the risk anymore lol. The alarm is hidden but I should have found a better spot for the siren. It was probably pretty easy to trace the lines, then again I was still working on all the electrical (gauges wiring, sensors, power, amp wires and fog harness). They pretty much caught my project car in the middle of working on it.
I should have a new bumper and painted with new side markers within the week. Thank god I do my own body work lol so that is an easy 100 fix. just got to buy more gauges and a stereo, mebbe.
