Stolen 2000 civic si =(
Hey guys, About two months ago my si was stolen from me.
To make a long story short my insurance is doing an investigation, and my adjuster says that they key has a transponder which makes it impossible to move without a key.
To me that makes no sense if it's one of the most stolen cars in america. Everyone I've asked told me the car doesn't have a transponder, and that it came in only GSR and type r models.
I was just wondering if you guys had any information regarding how to explain this to him. I'm having a very hard time explaining this and it would suck to be screwed because of an incorrect assumption..
Here is something I found that shows the ingition system of the car..
please help me out if possible!

Thank you guys!

what he's thinking of is the theft immobilizer, and no, SI's do not have them. To the best of my knowledge, GSR's are also sans immobilizer.

The 99-00 Si does not come with immobilizer built in like the integra Type R. Looks like he's trying to give you a hard time. Explain that to him, or have him contact Honda of america and he'll feel like an ***. I would demand another adjuster since he obviously is incompetent in doing his job.

^^ Thanks guys. I was thinking of emailing someone at honda. But I'm looking for hard evidence because he's being rediculous.

I have had 2 SI's and worked on many. Tell him to contact Honda and try to prove it has an immobilizer because only ACURA (not honda) started with the immobilizers in 00.

i would contact his office and speak to someone higher up the food chain and tell them he is incompatent. his imobilized excuse could be discredited with a call to honda, what a tool.

I've been in retail long enough and when the sales person can't help you, and you know the answer.. you talk to his manager!
