if you want optimum performance, yes it needs to be chipped. I ran a stock p28 with a stock b16 though and a poor man's R with no problems. although, it was pretty slow

oh ok well I just wanted to make sure because a couple of people have told me that it wont run right and could screw somethin up.

im running a p28 on a gsr everything cuts off at 7200k
\but just got it tunned with hondata s200 and it made a big difference.
low end does'nt really feel the same torgue wise... but all in all ALOT much faster!

Somtimes its cheaper to chip it as a p30 then buying another ECU.
