Default Stock Engine Swap

Ok, I've decided to part ways with my stock 92 DX engine, and I've come down with three choices on a swap. In your best opinions which engine would you choose and why?
- GS-R (B18C)
- DeL SoL VTEC (B16A3)
- 1.8L non-VTEC (B18A1)

Also, I need to find a website that has the cheapest prices for these engines, preferably used, but new is also acceptable. Thx

Well if money isn't a problem, then go for the B18C. If you are on tight budget than the LS motor is a good choice.

Hmm...I didn't see the B18C in that list. Does that mean its beyond desireless?

B18C is the Jap version of the Type R (I hear some JDM GSR's too
how confusing, huh?)

The B18C1 is the GSR USDM B18C with no number is JDM. The B18C5 is the Type R. If speed is what you want and money is no object... then here is my list.
H23/22 hybrid
H22
B20/B18C Hybrid
B18A/B18C or B16A hybrid
b18c5 Iterga type R
B16B civic Type R
b18c1 Gsr
b16a3 jdm & 00si & Del Sol 94+
b16a2 jdm SIR if i'm not mistaken
b16a jdm first gen
b18b
b18a

For everyday driving I would suggest the jdm B16. Its cheaper then the newer b16A3's and pretty much the same shiet. Just make sure your b16 comes wih the p30 pisons. Its alot cheaper then the GSR's and in my opionion if you were going to go with the GSR then you might as well go LS/VTEC. Thats what I'm in the middle of doing.

So far... only the block is done..... http://hometown.aol.com/slapusilly24...age/index.html

That's what I said. I have only seen JDM Type R engines in person. 3 Type R's with engine code B18C and 2 Spec R's with engine code B18C as well.
One of the Spec R engines was all part of the front clip, so there is no mistaking it for a JDM "GSR". I just think it is strange to see the same code for both.

yes it will fit, but it is highly not recommended unless your car will only be a purpose built drag racer...visit the hybrid honda page and read up on it, they will tell you which mounts and why it is a bad idea for a H22 in a Civic..stick with either a B16A( cheaper) or a B18C( like i did)..way better for daily driving and still have lots of pep...but ya gotta pay to play!!

h22 is the 2.2 liter vtec engine. Contrary to popular belief, the ballers that have had this swap done by ATOMIC use these cars as daily drivers and domestic killers with a bit o nos.

I reccomend the B18B and B20B or Z over any B16A for a street car. There is simply too little torque in comparison to the non VTEC b series, and a little more HP. Simply put B18C is either a JDM SIR-G (GSR) or Type-R. In order to truely decipher the 2 you must pull the head and Identify the piston's.
