Default Stock DX- Jerking & Bucking - Code 7

Hey

I am having a intermittent problem with my stock Civic DX 5 speed.
When i let my foot slightly off the gas ( imagine i needed to slow from 45mph to 40mph) the car loses all of it revs and feels as if its about to die, then when i put my foot back on the gas it jerks and bucks.
Same thing happens when i let the gas off while changing gears.
Then out of nowhere the problem will stop and it will drive perfectly for the rest of the journey.
It doesn't do this every time i drive, maybe about 70% of the time.
After about 2 weeks the check engine light would occasionally come on, it turns out it was a Code 7 (TPS) the TPS tested fine.
I replaced the TPS anyway and calibrated it ( 0.5v closed, 4.5v wot) i haven't had any check engine lights since but the jerking and bucking is worse than ever, though it still doesn't do it every time.
I have even tried a 3rd TPS but still no luck.

The car is completely stock, no mods, and gets 40mpg +.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

change the throttle body, the housing that holds the tps sensor is probably messed up

I have changed the throttle body, and put on a new gasket.
I thought it had solved it, it ran fine for a couple of days, now the jerking has returned worse than ever, it's almost impossible to pull off in 1st and change to second, it just goes dead, then power comes back all of a sudden, a local mechanic suggested changing the distributor, I have done but its still the same.

Check engine code 7 also came on again, but only once.

Any other suggestions? Could it be a fuel system problem?

Did you get any water in the engine bay? Particularly around the distributor?

Also, take off the distributor cap and make sure the rubber seal is still intact and able to keep moisture out. Even if it didn't get wet, moisture can still find its way in there.

No water got in there that i know of, I have already tried another distributor but the problem still happens, could there be a problem with some wiring or fuel?
Stuck at the moment.

This is driving me crazy!
It drove perfect all weekend, no problems at all.
Then went out in it this morning and it's almost undrivable.
I'm going to try messing with the throttle cable and see what happens.
Anyone have anymore suggestions?

Thanks

try reseting your ECU. Also check all your sparkplug cables. Might also be a mean vacumm leak!

This hints that it could have to do with varying weather.

On the morning it went bad again, was it wet outside?

Again, check the rubber gasket around your distributor cap. Distributors really, really dislike moisture.

Weather has been fine all weekend and no different this morning, gasket looks good, took the cap off looked fine, I replaced the dizzy last week and the problem was still the same.
I got the code 7 check engine light (TPS) today too, but replaced that 3 times and still no change.

I just drove it about an hour ago and the jerking was pretty bad, the idle also occasionally seems to been quite high tonight.
One other thing that may be related is tonight I stalled the car and it wouldn't start back up at all, then after about 5 minutes it suddenly started and drove fine.
When i got home I purposely stalled it and it wouldn't start again for 5 minutes, could this be related to the jerking problem at all? Maybe the fuel pump?
Not having much luck at the moment!

I Will try the other suggestions tomorrow and report back.

thanks for the suggestions.

i have a gsr and im throwing code 10. not trying to thread jack btw. mine feels like i have my foot off the pedal even if im slightly giving it gas just to maintain a speed. then it will spring to life then die off. its annoying as hell. also at redlights the rpms feel like it wants to stall hovering around 100-200. it only happens occationally as well. tonight was the first time the CEL came on. code 10 is intake temp sensor i believe. let us know if you figure it out.

Played with the throttle cable, reset ecu, new NGK spark plugs and cables, replaced fuel filter, replaced distributor, tried another TPS, but still can't get rid of the problem, some days it drives perfect then 1 hour later its terrible, doesn't matter if its dry or wet outside, it happens when the engine is cold and warm.
Anymore suggestions?
Thanks!

Have you checked the wiring to the TPS? Power, ground and continuity between wires.

It sounds like it's about that time to take it to a dealer where they could watch the tps signal along with others on a scan tool to find the problem.

I've done a good amount of electrical issues on Nissan's that independent shops send to the dealership I work at because they are just limited when it comes to detailed info.
