Stock del sol. B16 swap?
I recently bought a 95 del sol si and it came with the d16z6 motor. I love driving the car now but i know there are limits at what you do to this motor. So i was thinking about swapping. B18a1/b1, or the b16? Which would be cheaper and easier? What are all the parts i need?

^ X2!
Sometimes I wonder if people are serious or not
On his sig, it says he's in the process of doing a LSV. I don't know which one is harder, a simple swap or building a LSV.

I would not do a stock B16 swap. What a waste unless you want to boost. I've had 3 and would do a LS/B20 swap or B18C, if you want to stay NA and have some fun go H22 :D

I dont get why people jump on you when you post. I just sold my lsv crx to get the del sol to start a new project. So kid dont act tough over the internet. The h22 doesnt seem like a bad idea but iv never owned one and people i talk to say the have a lot of problems. I was reading its easier to swap in the b16 cause some of the del sols came stock with them.

Why would a B18 be any more difficult to swap in than a B16? That being said why would you NOT swap in the largest displacement & horsepower/torque producing power plant that you can afford? Your logic is flawed.

Re: Stock del sol. B16 swap?
Honestly the easiest and cheapest way to go about this. Considering you already have a d16z6 sohc vtec. Your already wired up for vtec and your still obd1. Go with the jdm b16a from www.hmotorsonline.com ur choice of a complete swap or just motor. However u want to go on that is really up to how much u want to spend. I personally would get the complete swap so u get everything. Then just bolt the motor in, plug in ur ecu and order obd1 to obd0 conversion harness from rywire.com and bam. U got b16. U would be very pleased with a b16 over a b18a/b swap. Id only go that route for a future ls/vtec conversion. Which you can buy an ls/vtec conversion kit with everything u need to tap the head and run oil lines but u still have more cut out for you. Not very friendly for the first timer. Or if u can find it... just find a wrecked delsol with a b16 and switch it all over. That's the easiest bolt in and go way to do it. But its all up to you. But the b16 is pretty under powered in the delsol chassis because of how heavy the car is. That's the kind of motor u put in a light car like a crx or civic hatch. If u got the money id definitly go for b18c1/5, H22 or the most expensive and extensive swap the Kswap. Skys the limit with the right money. But for a decent budget built street car. U can't go wrong with the b16 swap. I've had mine on 10psi absolute stock motor with drag radials running 11's. That's plenty fast for the cars you run into day to day on the street. But no turbo stock b16....u won't beat to many cars. But its still a fun motor to start.
