Stock 93 D15Z1 Engine w/ 125K miles -- Value?
How much is my 1993 Honda Civic VX engine with 125,000 worth? I'd like to know because I'm planning on selling it as a complete swap for them "eco modders" out there. I'm trying to ask for $500, so is that fair deal or no? Also, I'm willing to pull it out for the buyer. Anyway, all I can say is that I've spent a lot of money making this motor run well and it has never left me astray. All advices will be greatly appreciated.

I think it depends on where you are. I had a couple of these things, one was missing the proper VX manifolds, the other was complete but looked abused and it was high mileage when I got it. Swapped the manifolds over the better longblock, if someone gave me $100 for the engine, no tranny or distributor I'd be really happy. The other one I decided to try to part out, haven't sold anything yet. Remember you can buy complete OBD1 D15B Vtec-e engines from JDM importers for about $500 and they're low mileage and clean looking.

Does the JDM D15B with 3 stage come with a 5 wire O2 sensor though? Is it new enough to still be accurate? They do diminish in accuracy as they age.
I wouldn't necessarily put too much emphasis on what Honda charges for the 5 wire sensor, it's probably a Bosch or NGK sensor you could pick up for less as an aftermarket. For like $300 you can get a PLX wideband that can be integrated with a Honda ECU.
Even though most of us are after power, there are people who want to replace what came in their car or are after the good gas mileage like the eco-modders. I'd try asking $500 or best. 125k miles is pretty low on a Honda, and being a VX then it shouldn't have been abused.

The ECU is really picky about that O2 sensor. Bosch O2 sensors work like crap in Hondas for the most part regardless of model, but it's especially true in this case. Denso or NTK probably make something that works though, even then they're still super expensive for this particular O2 sensor.

Here's something to give you an idea: http://www.sunrisejdmmotors.com/engi...p?id=97&page=4
$350USD for a (presumably) low mileage JDM VTEC-E swap.
So, your **** will be worth less than that. Although - maybe about the same if you include the EGR and ECU. Nobody except you cares about your $$$$ 5-wire O2 sensor. Well, the buyer does too and you're sure to get under $100 without it.
