Re: Stinky exhaust & rough in gears
nice first post
can you give us more info? forced induction? prolly not.
had a tune up lately?
your tranny gears have nothing to do with smells. you should flush your tranny with new fluid. which is very easy.
and check for exhaust leaks. or for any dead animal stuck in the engine bay

Re: Stinky exhaust & rough in gears
I had my transmission flushed about 2 weeks ago, didn't help nor hurt. I hope to have a tune-up performed on it soon, my god its a lot of money! I have no idea about the other item you mentioned... But I did find a mouse in my engine last month, got rid of him but maybe he had a partner with him, will check.

free things to check:
check your air filter - clogged from dirt, or mice?
check your spark plugs - black and gooey looking, burned up?
check your exhaust - put the car up on jack stands, start it, and look under it for leaks and holes.
otherwise, save up for new spark plugs, cap, rotor, air filter and an oil change... and an oxygen sensor if you have no idea if/when it was ever replaced...
