Still Not Sure After Searching... Which Radiator With A Swap?

Default Still Not Sure After Searching... Which Radiator With A Swap?

Picking up my JDM B18c5 tomorrow, to go into my 95 EX Coupe... Can I use my old radiator with it, or should I get something else? Also, if I get something else, which hoses do I use? I read about people having a radiator with a different size port from their motor, and I really need to get my car running asap. Been sitting for like a month now, and it's killing me...

You can use your old radiator, but you should check into the dual core radiator from the Del Sol VTEC and the Auto EX.

ull be fine. But u could always do a ugrade to a teg radiator.

your radiator will be fine im usng a stock dx with the mugen thermostat and fan switch and it stays nice and cool with my b20 vtec fully built.

Use the stock radiator until it dies. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled for a Del Sol VTEC Dual Core one.

After swapping a b18c1 into my 94 hatch I ran it for about a year on the stock radiator. When it finally got a crack in it I went ahead and said to hell with it and bought a fluidyne radiator. They're not cheap but well worth it not having to worry about it cracking under pressure.

I should point out, I just bought this radiator like a year ago... The old one got a crack in the top, and I replaced it with an oem one. Since it's not the original 8 year old radiator, does that mean I have more time before worrying? Or will I still need to keep tabs on it.

you can get the dual cores on ebay for $65 , i got one and love it ,or you can go all out and get the 2 inch for about 150-160

I have a JDM B18C-R in my ek. I decided that i'm going to get the full length integra radiator. I'm sick of my fan kicking on every five minutes in the summer. Not to mention I need it because I'm going turbo in March.

I always thought that if your gonna swap a B series motor into a car that had a D, you had to upgrade the radiator?

Anyway, whats with this dual core radiator i'm hearing about? I'm in a process of taking my B16 from my now deseased SI (RIP) and swapping it. I just need a radiator. Wut would be the "best" stock honda radiator? The intergra raditors your saying are longer? Someone educate me. I'd like input.

only thing i'd worry about really is the radiator hose is a different size and you have to clamp the bitch like a mother ****** to get it to not leak. not really a good idea but it works for most people. I'd get a custom upper and lower radiator hose if you had some extra money.

you dont always have to upgrade the radiator,but its a good idea. heres the dual core i was talking about http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...65251 . this is the same company i bought mine from, i dont know if they have a website or not but you can prolly ask them. as far as getting one any bigger than this one i dont think you would need too, this is the same one my buddy uses on turbo h22 swaps and it works just fine.the integra radiator is full width instead of being just half width, so you lose your ac condenser, you can prolly find something on it if you searched there have been plenty of ppl who have done it

i have a boosted LS in my 95 eg hatch (dx) and im using the stock radiator. the only thing you need to do is buy the DOHC hoses. they will fit on your radiator.

1. OEM direct bolt in swap: DelSol dual core or Civic EX Auto dual core
they fit in the original locations/mounts and will cool even a boosted B series engine very well.
2. OEM modification required swap: full length Integra radiator
needs some mounts modified to work, there is probably alot of good how to info on H-T to seach for.
3. Aftermarket swap: some aluminum direct fit radiator like Fluiddyne or PWR
expensive but works really well, probably a better idea if your car sees alot of track time

Personally I like the oem DelSol dual core, it has always worked well for me. And it is pretty affordable too.

i have a boosted gsr eg hatch, and i used an oem style eg radiator for the longest time with no heating issues whatsoever. Just make sure you get the one with the metal endtanks, so you don't have to worry about it cracking. But that one for $66? wow, haha can't beat that.
