Default still f***ed up....

ok, 93 hatch, 95 gsr engine....bogs down really bad and runs like **** after its warmed up...checked all wiring, replaced knock sensor, new plugs, wires, dis. cap and rotor, fuel filter....fuel psi at 40-45psi....i can flip the key off while driving and it'll go back to normal for a few minutes, then back to the same ol ****...

here's whats new, i have an exhaust leak before my o2 sensor....could this be sending it the wrong signal (i.e. too lean) and dumping more fuel, causing it to run like ***?

i'll get it fixed for sure, just wondering if anyone has heard of this...thanks

Just a guess but it sounds like a timing issue...

Might be your O2. I have CEL code 41 on my EK, its primary O2 pre-heater, which basically means my O2 is shot, and when the car is warmed up, it barely holds an idle. Also runs like crap, no power, etc.

it just had a new o2 put in about 2 mo. ago...i suspect it might be running rich, which makes me think it could be the exhaust leak idea

no p28, just factory GSR ecu (95) obd1

only thing that gets me, is why i can turn the key off, then right back on and it goes away...that means it'd have to be one of the sensors for sure, right?

Throw a turbo on that bitch: that'll take away your "running rich" problem . No, but seriously, fix your exhaust and check your MAF sensor for any loose or broken parts. If your car is getting a false MAF reading, it could be compensating with more fuel. You could also be in limp mode over something that your ECU isn't picking up.

thats exactly what it feels like, limp mode...cruising along, doin fine, plenty of power, then its like something punches the engine in the face, it just goes blah...loud as ****, but not goin anywhere...i tried an LS MAP sensor on it and it did the same thing, so i don't think its that either...thanks though

how much does the fuel pressure dip when u rev it? i had the a similar problem with my CX & b16. it turned out that my fuel pump went bad. i could drive around, but when i punched it, it would bog and realllly suck.

you should also pop off the valve cover and check your cam timing

fuel pressure doesn't dip at all, it shoots up about 2-3psi...could it be the fuel pump like you're sayin since i can turn the key off, back on, and its good for a few minutes?

it looks like you replaced most of the sensors...

one i didnt see was the coolant temp its on the head below the distributor....

not the one on the thermostat houseing.

that could cause your problem, but its odd that there isnt a code....but i would try it they arent too expensive..

and the exhaust leak near the 02 could be an issue also....

try to eliminate everything that you could think it is
