Steering Wheels shakes like a **** at 60mph+...
92 civic cx, no power steering... just bought
i can turn the wheel about an inch or two before it engages, which it shouldn't do.
but when going about 60 mph or faster the steering column shakes pretty loudly... any ideas?
is this something i can just tighten?

Re: Steering Wheels shakes like a **** at 60mph+... (ransack)
that was my first assumption, but the fact that when i push down on the steering wheel or pull up realy heard the shaking seems to stop. actually that would still make sense if it were alignment and balance. hmmmm...but is there a possibility is could be something else?
Edit: thanks guys, i'll try it and get back to you

But try balance. I did, fixed my problem.
If not, not like your losing out on anything

PUshing or pulling on the wheel just puts more force to hold it steady.
#1 Check Lug nuts....time and again someone has forgotten to tighten the lug nuts at 3 am.
#2 Jack up car and with the steering wheel locked see if the tires have play in them.
#3 Remove all tires and have them rebalanced.
