Default steering on an EK hatch

alrite, so after all my modification of my hatch i am still dissapointed in the end due to a lack of quick steering and the seemingly slow response time in the steering... I am hessitant to get a smaller steering wheel because it is a manual steering car and i don't really want to add extra effort for a minor gain... is there anything else that can be done?

ie... a steering rack from another honda that is quicker or more responsive? or an aftermarket mod that would increase response and/or make the steering quicker

any help would ROCK! thanks everyone

I'm currently looking at the same trouble with my EK. I'd love to see a simpler solution like a steering rack from another honda that would fit, or even an aftermarket racing steering rack. I contacted spoon about it, and i'm still waiting for their reply. But i'm worried that even if they have it, it will be hideusly expensive.

A few years ago there was a company on here that was offer new gears for your rack. They were suppoused to make it quicker L2L, but with the high cost of production and the low demand I don't believe they were produced very long.

Have you considered putting in a rack from an EM1? They are quicker L2L? I know they are all power racks but you could always run it vented.

I'd actually prefer to keep my PS. I thought that the EM1 was mechanically the same thing as the EK4? What i really want is to reduce the number of steering wheels turns from L2L. The quicknes can be gained with tire and chamber combination.

I wouldn't mind if you could remember wich company that was !

When taking a closer look, it doesen't help me. It's for the damn ITR and EG again nothing for the EK's.

well then you totally should know what we're talking about, no PS means you an additional 1/4 turn lock to lock over that of the PS ek racks!

not unless you change out something with the cross member from an eg, the eg rack won't just bolt right up

Too bad there isn't anything more straight forward for the EK's. Because this steering takes alot of fun away from the car.
