Steering/3rd grind
Alright guys i'm lookin into a 93' hatch and it's all gravey exept for two things. The steering feels real funny and loose and it doesnt start to turn until the steering wheel its 3 inches to the left or right just wondering what this problem is and if its fixable. Second, The car grinds into third gear during normal shifting but rides fine i think its the syncro but, i dont know. Lookin for some answers. thanks.

Re: Steering/3rd grind (Deathwish)
the thrid gear isnt a big deal you can live with it for a while but sooner or later it will not let you put it into thrid gear. as for the steering i have no clue maybe the rack is loose

Re: (Deathwish)
I know there's a rack guide screw located on the bottom of the gearbox. I think that's how you would tighten up the steering. I cant recall the method of tightening it though. You might also want to check your tierods if they're still good. I know my passenger side inner is bad since I can move the wheel left and right before it catches.
