Default Starting to work on my engine... b18c

So I got my JDM b18c in, and I know alot of you saw the pics... I plan to rebuild alot of this engine... atleast the block and transmission while it's out of the car... then I plan to do the rest while it's already dropped in...

So what I'm asking is right now as it sits straight from where I got it, what can I begin to do? Where would you start?

Can I start by unplugging the wiring harness? How am I going to know how my DX harness plugs back in? I have the wiring sub-harness from HASport for the VTEC, so I'm okay.

What else can I do? Water pump? Timing belt? Spark plug, wires, cap, rotor?

Just basically trying to get opinions on what people would do in my position right now. I will be rebuilding alot, but I'm not ready to send the block in or anything just yet... but soon.

THANKS!

More specifically, tune up and neccessities?

Like... I don't wanna put any fluids in there right now, so what do you mean?

Your question is alittle vague.

What is your definition of "rebuilding" the motor and tranny?

Do you plan on replacing the internals? Or are we talking a basic tune up?

i plan on replacing pressure plate, flywheel, whole clutch assembly basically...

the block will have pistons, rods, rings, and sleeve it.... 3 angle valve job... rod bolts... um... that type of stuff...

a serious build up.. but not like EVERY LITTLE THING... you know?

I'm assuming that if you're gonna go turbo you're not going with high comp pistons right? When you've got the head off you can replace the head gasket and all. I'd mainly make sure everything you've got allready works like it's supposed to so that when you drop in your new motor you don't end up with something broken

IMHO you should start off by getting yourself a Helms, and doing some research into what it takes to rebuild an engine. (tear down, machining, parts, assembly, etc.)

Try searching around the Forced Induction and Allmotor forums. Look for people doing similar types of buildups and ask questions.

The more knowledge you gain, the easier it will be for you to make an educated decision on what, and when things need to be done...

Good luck.
