Default Starting to think i paid to much for my car, curious on opinions.

Well recently i just bought a white 2000 civic dx hatchback shell. It was missing motor, axels, mounts, shift linkage, ac, ps, has an obd1 wiring harness, no front seats, no ecu, has 127,713 on the odometer. I bought it out of state from i guy who lives in vegas and had it shipped here for 500. I paid 2500 for the car itself so 3k total, oh and it has a clean title. Just curious do you guys think i paid to much, car came with a vis cf hood which has some crack on it, and a spoon look a like wing, which is in perfect condition. Also has a bum fender on it, he gave me new z3 fenders in compensation (would rather have recieved nothing, i hate those fenders). Thats everything i can think of, oh and if this is in the wrong place mods please move, im not sure if this belongs here or not.

yeah, this should probably be in GDD, but yeah, you paid way to much. Just my .02

Here you could get a decent shape, high mileage car that runs for that much.

starting to think the same, hatchs are rare as hell in my area, i think there might be a total of 5 in town, and if there is ever one for sale they want *** loads of money for it, oh well i guess mistakes are made, kinda works both ways in my life cause i got way more for my prelude then it was worth...

I think 2000 would be reasonable. You shouldn't count the shipping. Well if you wanted a complete 2000. I say you would be paying a lot more. NOW go get that K20 everybody is talking about! GO!

u deff paid way too much.....an ek with 120k miles in mint condition in jersey would sell for 3500, maybe less...a mint eg with same miles around 2500 - 3000....n they would all run n have everything u need to drive the car...

yea dude sry you got screwed, i just bought an ek coupe, si front and back end, si interior, power everything, rear disc and a nice little single cam with a chipped p28 for 2700, you should've checked out autotrader down here in florida i saw an ek for 3500 w/ typr r front seats and a b20/vtec in there. IMO it would've been worth it.

What are you talking about?

First off, it's impossible that they can "drive the car" when he's buying A SHELL.

Secondly, there's no mint condition civics in NJ .

Those numbers sound about right for an 6th and 5th gen civic (respectively) but for one who's running.

If you pay 3000 for a 5th gen shell you overpaid - straight up.

Yea
I got my VX EG with 130k on it, VERY clean shell, had been rearended, at slow speeds of 5 - 10 mph, and only broke the bumper clips. 3000$ <---I still thought it was a lil spendy, but thing ran so sweet. Since them I hit 200k miles like 2 days ago, and Ive only had to replace Radiator, an axle boot, TB, WP, Alt belt, oh and all 4 brakes.

thats true...the more rare the car is in ur area the more it would cost....sometimes people with mint crx's around here want up to 3k or more...because finding one is hard n finding a mint one is almost impossible.....

wow, sry dude, I agree with everyone else. I got my shell w/ everything cept the motor wasn't working(no biggy) and the paint was messed along with a few interior stuff, all for 400. Which in my opinion still isn't a steal but it's hard to find them around here and that ready to become a project. Research is your best ally that and hondatech people.

already got a new wiring harness for the thing, and i have a stock d laying around in the garage which is one of the reasons i bought it. I know i paid like 700 to much for it, but i looked and looked for weeks and didnt find anything i liked, all the hatchers were either riced out or salvaged titles. I found this one and just bought it cause a guy wanted to buy my prelude and had 4500 cash on him to give me, so i had to get something lol.
