Default Starting problems for a 92 Si Hatch

I have a 92 Si hatch with a D16Z6 and I have been having some starting problems with it. I just not to long ago replaced the fuel pum, fuel filter the strainer and the ignition switch but I keep having the same problem. When I start the car up it turns over and starts fine then it just dies. Ther will be times I hear the fuel pump kck on and times I don't hear it. Can anyone tell me what they may think is wrog with it. Before I changed the ignition switch last week the cr was doi the same thing except then none of my indash lights were on. With the new ignition switch it fixed that problem but I'm starting to get the whole tatting problems back where it will run for like 2 seconds then just die.

When I give it gas it still dies on me. I know the fuel pump should always prime but it doesn't. There will be times right now that it won't prime but the car starts fine then when you shut it off and start it the fuel pump primes but the car starts then dies.

hmmm ... a buddy of mine just had this same problem and it ended up being a short in the wiring harness not allowing the car to idle ... the wiring for the iacv was shorting so it wasnt getting air to idle

do you have a pressure gauge that you can screw into your fuel rail at all? you might be able to tell if your pump is failing if you can determine the pressure, if you think that the fuel pump might be the culprit

Sounds like your main relay is about to quit. Here are some links from the FAQ section to get you started.

I actually called a friend a little while ago and he said the same thing that BrandonR was talking about. He had told me he had the same problem with his hatch and it was his main relay. He has a couple spare ones so maybe we can try those and see if that fixes it. Thanks for your guys help I'll reply back to this if that is what the problem was.
