ok this has happened before so im lost. i can crank my car up in the morning no problem. i drive to school and when i go to leave for home, i crank up the car. it runs for like 2 seconds then dies. then it will not crank back up for like 10 minutes. it will turn over but it acts like it is getting no spark or no fuel. it bascially just spins over. now i read about vapor lock so once before i did unscrew my gas cap, then screwed it back on and the car cranked. i tried that today and no good. plus today i had a full tank of gas. it has done this to me about 4 times now and im scared im going to get stranded. any idea what would cause this. it is a 1992 vx totally stock with no mods. any help would be cool.

Have you changed out your cap, plugs and rotor? How about your fuel filter it could be clogged. Check your grounds and see if they are clean and not corroded. Basically check all your little mantainence stuff first. It's intermitent so it sounds like a bad ground or something like that. What kind of day is this happening on IE hot, cold, wet... Vapor lock is not very common on water-cooled cars especially hondas, the fuel lines aren't really close enough to big heat sources. Your fuel pump could be going. But check the easy stuff first then go from there.

i changed the cap,rotor,plugs,plug wires. the fuel filter is on the firwall right? ill check all my grounds and see. it is happening on hot humid days. i live in houston so it is haot as hell in august. thanks for the rply ill check the other stuff.

main relay ... did the same thing to me in my crx... it would crank in cool weather but not in heat
