Starting on my Single Slammer
Hey guys, I'm new to H-T, still kinda new to the Honda world. I've got a 2000 civic hx. (d16y5) I'm wanting to start building the motor and I just need some help finding where to start. Eventually I wanna boost it, but i just wanna start on some performance for now.
I have an AEM intake. I have some **** *** exhaust that actually sounds damn good, but, It's straight piped and I've heard that when you get a header it will sound like **** without a cat or test pipe. Anyway, that's about all motor wise. Just looking for some help on where to start.
Thanks

How long before you hope to Boost? I assume Turbo and not SC. If your planning to Boost 6 months down the road I wouldn't waste a penny on bolt-ons right now because they will be no good to you once you get the turbo on there.

Bolt-ons on a single cam is useless right now. If you plan on boosting build a totally separate motor for boost then buy your bolt -on to match your turbo goals. If you say you don't have the money to build another motor you pretty much don't have the money to turbo your car. Do it right the first time don't cheap out unless longevity isn't a concern. Internals then, externals, then fun!!!!!
