Starting issues and more - Distributor problem?

Starting issues and more - Distributor problem?
I have a new battery and new spark plugs. But I'm having trouble starting maybe 50% of the time.
There are a few things that happen when I have trouble:
- It cranks with out a problem but it won't fire up.
- It cranks and starts up, but immediately stalls.
Can both of these be related to the distributor?
Also, after driving around when I come to a stop the RPMs drop a good amount to where it will shake the car and almost stall but this is only if I have the brake pressed. Release the brake and the RPMs go back to the regular idle speed.
When the car is running, if feels fine - no hesitation, vibrations, or anything like that.

Re: Starting issues and more - Distributor problem? (VSG)
sounds like your fuel pump is giving out.....try another fuel pump if it helps...lack of fuel stalls and no fuel equals no startup... good luck...

I forgot about this.
For those who might search in the future, the problem was the main relay. Info here: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainr...ion/index.html
Basically the soldered joints expanded enough in the heat (summer time, windows closed) that they'd make the connection to the ignition and fuel pump, but not to the fuel injectors. The times it did start up but immediately stall, there was a residual amount of fuel that ignited, but it was brief.
The problem was solved by leaving the driver's side door open. That cooled off the relay enough that the soldered connection worked for the injectors.
I replaced the main relay and never had the problem again.
