Do you somehow think that higher octane fuel makes more hydrocarbons and greenhouse gas?

I'm retarded because you said that people who run race gas are responsible for all the pollution?
Whatever, hippie.

Re: Starting on Hondas! (cartune network)
Yeah possible but if that was my motor I would be running 89. I just started checking out this website it's cool but contains alot of incorrect content. All these guys are killin themselves in more way than one w/ the high octane go juice!!!!. And I'm not a hippy just someone who does'nt like to blow 5.00 dollar a gallon + gas out the A#*!!!

You're a hippie because you think octane = pollution.

Re: Starting on Hondas! (Transpoquick)
well i have no choice but to run 93 or 94 octane so i dont really get what ur getting at. high horsepower cars will use 93+ octane.

Re: Starting on Hondas! (demian22)
d15b7 stock rods are poop. there really thin and after seeing them i wouldnt want to bring that motor past 7000rpms. i would say swap it out.

Re: Starting on Hondas! (demian22)
Friend you want to run the least amount of octane possible without getting a knock. If you must run 93 to get rid of the knock than do it (thats a whole diffrent story) However I would try 89 first it is simply more "explosive" to put it in simple terms and will make more power.

Re: Starting on Hondas! (Transpoquick)
you halfway understand what you just stated.
the octane rating has to do with how volitale a fuel is. 93 is less volitale than 89 and so on and so forth. 93 octane needs a hotter spark to ignite where as 89 does not. diesel fuel doesnt even ignite if you physically light it on fire.
the fuel is not what makes the power. its the components and compression. 89 is more "explosive" but it has not just fuel that determines power.

Wow, what a flame fest.
@ OP:
If you're not boosting, 1st gen 'teg pistons are the way to go bro.
It should up your compression ratio to around 11-11.3 with D16A1 pistons and a 2 layer Y8 headgasket. (about 11 flat w/ a regular gasket)
It would be 12 flat if you had a Z6 block, but you don't.
I say go for it, the raised compression with a good header will make some nice power. The more compression you make, the more the header will help you, so it won't just me 1-3hp at the wheels like it is stock, you'd be looking at a bit more, like up around 10 or so @ 12 CR.
Bump it, air intake, goooood header (like bisimoto)...or just a really good one like a toda and a good exhaust with a high flow cat, you'll have a nice D series build, man. Though I'd recommend going with a Z6 block as it'll help with your CR, depends how you wanna role it.
