Default Starter won't engage - need help!

Ok, 96 Civic LX with a B16A engine and P72 ECU.

I ran a 12v wire to the starter solonoid and it turns. So I assume that means the starter and solonoid are good. Next I checked continuity in the ignition switch, that also passed the service manual tests. Lastly I checked the starter relay, which passed.

I also turned the key to position 3, waited a few seconds, and then pushed in the clutch. I heard a relay click so I assume the clutch switch is working too.

Any recommendations on what to test next?

Check the solonoid ground. May be bad connection, causing too much resistance.

ok well we ran into this problem when converting my friends integra to a manual, the starter would click and stuff but it wasnt spinning because it wasnt grounded properly, so first check that. if that doesnt work then maybe the solenoid is hitting the flywheel ? just a guess though

If I hook up 12v to the starter solonoid directly the car starts, so I think the ground and alignment with the flywheel is ok.

Maybe I need to check the wiring. Does anyone know where the wire that's supposed to send the 12v resides under the dash?
