Default starter question

I am posting this for a friend of mine:
His girlfriend has a 93 del slow 5speed, he asked me to replace the starter this weekend for her. The auto parts store stocks two starters for this motor, a denso one and a mitsu one which are different apparently. Anyone know off hand which started he needs to order?

Default Re: starter question (maxspeedhonda)

They are probably functionally the same. The more expensive one will usually be a PMGR (permanent magnet gear reduction) higher torque smaller unit.

Clean all the crud off your existing starter and look for the ND or Diamond Star logo if you are worried about fit.

Or just get your original equipment unit custom built and never worry about some crappy Auto-Joke/ No Auto Parts Availible/Uh O'Reilly unit.
