Standalone or VAFC2
I am putting in a new cam, cam gear, and valve springs and retainers. I called a shop for getting the motor tuned after the parts are in, and they said that I should go ahead and throw in either a standalone or piggyback fuel management system. My question is, which should I get and what else do I need? If I get a VAFC, do I need new injectors and fuel pump, or can I keep my OEM parts? Also, if you were getting your engine tuned, what other parts would you have them tune at the same time? (I am trying not to have the car tuned again too soon, so I want to throw in the tunable parts right now.) Lastly, would you get an ignition controller/system (MSD) also, or is this not needed? Thanks, any help appreciated for the newbie!
