I have 2000 honda civic lx, its been stalling on me when is in drive and theres no check engine light codes, the light to come on when i first turn the key so they work. so a replaced the ignition switch and drove it around the block with no issue (would have drove it longer but had no time) about 6 hours later i got back in to do a real test i put it in drive and it died 5 seconds later i just lose all power and it shuts down, but starts right back up. I order a new ignition control module/ igniter and waiting for it to get here. do guys have any suggestions? i wish it would at least give me some codes to work with.

When was the last time it received a good tune up?
Cap, rotor, spark plugs plug wires. Fuel filter?

spark plugs plug wires. fuel filter were all replace about 2 months ago i bought a cap and rotor yesterday but have not put it on yet. i was waiting for the other part to come in and just do it all at once.

When it stalls, do the oil and battery lights on the dash come on? They should be on whenever the key is on but the engine is not turning. If as you say it "lost all power" including the lights not coming on, that usually means the ignition switch is bad.

yes the do come back on also my headlights work. i guess i meant all power to the engine
