Re: (Cza_EM1)
bummer. i feel your pain.
just bought a '2000 ls swap' for $1000.. looked at the motor before paying... didn't know what to look for.. now i got a 94 obd2 motor in my hands and no transmission, no ecu, etc.
I've only been driving hondas for 6 months now and i love them, but all the theft in the scene disgusts me. I am sort of half glad that honda is making their parts less interchangeable ( have fun putting a stolen k20 into your ek ).
at least you can fix the car up. not like there isn't a deluge of cheap parts for our cars.

so it''s a 94 motor converted to obd2? and you also bought a motor and didn't realize there was no transmission attached to it? were you told there was? and you also didn't notice a lack of an ecu? again, were you told it was there? do you have any automotive knowledge whatsoever? sorry for all the questions but your post wasn't real clear.

He had told me that he had the transmission and other parts elsewhere. I kinda looked the motor over and paid him. I only paid for the block itself, so the transmission was something he 'threw in'.
It's a 94 motor. no VIN.. 94-95 valve cover, 9/4 printed on the block.
He was *going* to do the work and put the swap in for the motor + labor + parts, so it wasn't really a big concern of mine where the stuff was located at that time.
I've made my post clearer in another completely different topic, which is why i didn't go into detail here.
And *now* i know plenty about identifying transmissions and motors.
