srs light just decided to come on why???
i just bought this car a 2000 civic si about 3 weeks ago. i havent had one problem with the thing. so today i pull in my drive way after getting the thing licensed and drive down the hill and come to a stop with the front pointed down hill slightly, going to turn around. when i look down and the srs light has now came on. so i finish turning around and park the car and turn it off hoping that restarting it may cure the sudden apperance of this light but it did not. so now the srs light is on constantly. why did the light all of a sudden decide to come on? what should i do to get the light to shut off. any help will be greatly appreciated. sorry for the long post just wanted to get every aspect of the occurence down.

You can reset it manually but there's still a good chance that it will return because there might be something wrong in the system.
This one time i had a 99 or 00 Si come in and the shop was for the seat belt buckle (09-3 DRVR SEAT BELT SW FAILURE). This could possibly be your problem but that's a slim chance since its not common. It's really common on 4 cylinder 00-02 Accords. That's a free repair because seat belts are lifetime warranty (NOT ALL OF THE SRS system) is lifetime.

how do you figure? could be wiring, any one of the capacitors, one of the sensors, ABS link. you just narrowed it down to 1 part without even trying to pull the code?

I don't what are the actual symptoms of it but the that i had in the shop had that code (09-3). If it is that code it will be fixed for free, but keep in mind that it can be another code and that problem might not be fixed for free.

This is bad information because you don't even know what the code is.

I know this is in the wrong section, but the subject is similar...
Do you know if seatbelts in the 90-93 Integras have lifetime warranties? My girlfriend has a 91 RS with the SRS light on. It's got the sliding shoulder belts with blown motors...It would be sweet if this was a free fix at the dealer.
