When i unplugged my SRS light on the back of my gauge cluster, it caused my car not to crank over.. is there some kind of security protection on that? And i think there is a DIY Thread on here for the SRS light, a more legit way and it still can save your life.

Must be your car because my SRS plug has been unplugged since I bought my car almost 3 yrs ago. It has been unplugged since even before I bought my car. I had no problems.

Yes, if you have a driver airbag removed, you can use a resistor to make the SRS ECU think there's a bag there.
