I recently picked up a AP1 Steering Wheel for $180 and I know the plugs are the same with the EK's since it has a one stage airbag. I had a Fit steering wheel before that but the airbag plugs were different so never wired them. Also took off the SRS plug behind my cluster since I didn't want it staying on with the last steering wheel. Now I try to install my stock steering wheel that came with the EK and the light stays on. This is what I did.

I wanted to test it on my factory wheel before trying to do the AP1 in case anything accidentally triggers the airbag off and there goes a waste of an AP1 airbag.

1. I removed the negative terminal from the battery.

2. Waited 10 minutes.

3. In the meantime, mounted the stock wheel to the column.

4. Took out my cluster to connect the SRS Plug (yellow one).

5. Plugged in the horn and connection to the SRS plug of the steering wheel.

6. Once 10 minutes passed, made sure everything is plugged up and placed the negative terminal back onto the battery.

7. Turn on the car, everything was normal except the SRS plug. It remained on.

Anyone know what it could be. Would it made a difference if I had to remove the positive and the negative when doing this?

so is the light on with the stock wheel? if so than you need to pull the codes outta the abs system. google it if you dont know how. it might be somthing else went wrong while you werent using it.
