Default Help needed? SRR Tie Bar install EK

Hey I got a new SRR tie bar for my 98 SI.

Went to put it on

Removed the LCA bolts (to the Sub)
Put the brackets on and now the bolts are not long enough.

Anyone else encountered this?

The SRR Bar has those huge plates with the welded on washer, so it makes the bolt sit out further.

A better explanation is, the bolt is currently inset, and with the SRR plates covering the hole is makes the surface flush and further out.

I was thinking about using bolts from ITR

the honda parts catalogue says 10x80

THE ITR says 10x89 (I assume more length for the tie bar)

Do you think I could attempt using a type-r bolt

Does anyone have a part number for a longer bolt I could use?

maybe contact the maker of the bar and ask them. I mean they should have provided you with the necessary stuff to make it work.

I emailed SRR and this is the response

Dear Sir,

Normally the factory bolts are long enough when installing the lower strut bar. Did the bolts be changed before?
pls contact the dealer which you bought from to see if they can offer the longer bolts or contact
Drivehard Auto Accessories TEL:6047206818 and see if they can help.
Thank you.

SRR

yes the bolts do fit..

the only problem is .. the current bolt stick out the back nut about 3-4 MM.
Now it only goes half way into the Nut. Doesnt look too safe.

remember the plates I am using are not flush against the subframe, I will try to get a pic this weekend to show you what I mean

yes the brakets from the tie bar are flush against..

What I am saying is.. the bolt in the subframe is inset.

now the brackets have a little metal washer welded on the back, so when the plate goes on top is fills in the inset.. so the bolt sits a little further out.

SOrry if my explanation is bad..
I will try to show you a pic

gsr-lo

Did you ever find a solution for this? I have the same bar. On the EK, the LCA bolt goes through the tie bar (I don't think it does on the EG model). The stock bolts are not long enough.

Does anyone else have this set up? The stock bolts are 10X80, so would the 10X89 1998 ITR bolts fit my EK Civic? Are they the same thread pitch?
