SQUICKY CLUTCH
hey guys i know ima newbie from MTL but i have a question, it might have already happened to some of you...
most often then not when i press my clutch all the way in it squicks everytime. At first it was tolerable but now it annoys me alot!
I wanted to know if a nice shot of WD40 would help me out but then again a clutch is not something you want to get slippery!
ANy ideas?

Yeah, same problem here... a shot of WD-40 at the point where the shaft connects to the pedal cures the problem temporarily, but I would like to know if anybody has found a better solution.

Yea, mine does it too. I know its not the slave cylinder by the engine. I imagine some type of grease would work. Back me up for type to use.

mines squeeks too, did it before my swap and now after my b16 swap so im guessing its something on the petal where it attaches to teh clutch MS. maybe a loose bolt or something?

for those that have the problem when its cold its because there is a rubber cap over hole where the piston goes into the master cylinder. If you pop the cap off put some grease behind it then put it back on you will be set.

In the engine bay.. the black boot that covers that i guess i would think it would be the slave cylinder?
I'm lost

correct under the boot is slave cyclinder

Its the fork at the tranny. Look at the tranny where you bleed the clutch. Take the rubber boot off and have someone rapidly push the clutch in and spray WD-40 or PB Blaster inside the tranny where the boot covers.

isnt the boot there to stop **** from going in there? is it alright to spray **** in there and it wont damage the slave cyclinder?

If you use WD40 it will work for a week or so then come back, mine squeaks too, i think it's something you have to deal with. Just make sure you put the dustcap/bootie back on the clutch assembly when you're done.

Sounds like everyone’s confused to me... my car does the same thing... i think mine however is coming directly from the pressure plate when i press the petal. .. However... the thing under the dash , the part that the petal connects to is the Clutch Master Cylinder (you can see the other half mounted to the firewall in the engine bay), the part that bolts to the tranny and is black and moves the release fork in the tranny bell housing is the Clutch Slave Cylinder.
The squeaks could be coming from the petal it self, the master cly., the slave cly., where the slave cly. and release fork meet, or the pressure plate, or perhaps even where the release fork and throw-out bearing meet. hope this cleared up most of it. and Correct me if im wrong please.. Thanks

I sure hope it's not your throwout bearing, press. plate, or slave cylinder. If it is then you got some bigger problems than you think. I bet it's your master cylinder push rod. It's inside and connects right to the pedal.

Nope just replaced my master cly. its in the press plate.. lol i know i have problems i think its squeaking from the clutch getting over heated due to its been slipping for the past.... 3 weeks.. haha im replacing the press plate, clutch, flywheel and both bearings this upcoming weekend however... so well find out what the prob is... ill also never seize where the slave pushrod meets the release fork so ill know that’s not squeaking...

same. but also if u can hear a rattle sound while ur foot is off the clutch, then it would be the throw out bearing. to fix that just lube it up!

Don't spary it in the tranny. You will put grease on the clutch and flywheel. Just put it on the slave cylinder end and on the fork.

o no nonono i didnt mean spray it in the tranny, i was talking about when the tranny makes a rattling sound. but when the squeaky sound comes then just lube up the release fork
