Squeek, when going in reverse, with wheel turned.
I've been dealing with this for a few weeks now and I dont know what it is. So any advice is appreciated.
I have a 97 hatch with a b-series motor. That may or may not be relevant. The problem I am having is only when I put my car in reverse, and turn my wheel all the way to the left and start to back up do I get this horrible squeeking sound. If i straighten my wheel it remains. When I start to drive forward it disappears faintly and after about 1 minute of driving straight it is completely gone, it sounds like it squeeks at the same momentum of the tire rotation. At the same time i noticed this other problem which may be related. When driving on the highway above 80KM/h I will get this noise a squeeking sound right in the middle of my engine bay close to my firewall. Of course I can't confirm 100% where it comes from as I only hear it when im driving over 80KM/h. The noise lasts for 5 minutes while driving then just disappears slowly but comes back about 15mins later. I dont think its my engine, If i push my clutch in and put my car in neutrual the sound remains and seems to be going at the same speed as my tire rotation.
It is the strangest thing, but if anyone has any info, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

i had a similar problem after replacing my rotors, come to find out it was the dust cover rubbing against the rotors that i somehow managed to bend.

thanks guys. ill try and check out the above. its so strange that its intermittent and that above certain speeds it makes noise for about 5mins then disappears. and only when i turn my wheel to the left all the way will it squeek. ill try and check the axels and the dust cover. i am going to be replacing my rotors in the spring as well as brakes.
