Squeaking noise when clutch engaged
Hi all, I have a 95 Civic LX with 112,000 miles on it. Just got it two months ago, and have replaced the head gasket, timing belt, water pump, and thermostat on it all in that time. Naturally, another problem has come along. On most start ups, theres a squeaking noise, no matter if its cold or not. Occasionally whenever I upshift or just have the clutch engaged, the squeaking noise happens again. The car usually has a hard time getting into first and reverse, and today it made a grinding noise getting into second two or three times. The noise has been going on for about two weeks now, any idea if its anything bad or what it could be?

Squeaking on start up could be anything, how do you know its coming from the tranny?

Yup, squeaking noise is only there when clutch pedal is pushed down. It sounds like the same noise, so Im assuming that it has something to do with the clutch/transmission. Happens in gear and in neutral.

I personally have the same noise but goes away, when clutch is pressed. I'd start with flushing the tranny fluid. But it's most likely your throw out bearing.
EDIT: pinpoint where the noise is coming from, It can be from the pedal itself try lubing up where it connects threw the firewall or in my case slave cylinder which would need to be replaced.

My 98 lx does the same thing it sounds a bit like a wet belt can this be the throw out bearing? What happens when it gives up.
