Ok,

My top sqeaks like a B*TCH and I really want it to stop... the sad thing is that I've become numb to it and only notice it when other people ride with me. Embarassing.

I tried putting white lithium grease on the seals, but that seems to do nothing except for get my hands black and oily when I take off the top.

Any ideas?

try something more water proof
ie silicone or petrolium based (vaseline)

There is a way to tighten the top to stop rattling with some washers(link), it's easy to do but I advise you, this is only a temporary solution and will lead to worst rattling later. Try and take your roof off and lock the handles (put in locked position), now look at the pins at the four corners, if they are loose that's what makes the roof rattle.

Never use a petrolium based product on a rubber seal. It will dry it out and crack it. I used dielectric grease on my top. It absorbs into the seals and conditions them.

i tried the washer trick last year but it didnt work..any other ideas

On clubsi.com I saw a kit (For lack of a better term) that replaces the washer things that surrond the roof pins. I don't remember where it was from, but maybe you can look around on there.
