Default spudder at vtec

i jsut recently built my gsr ...
JDM ITR headers
Toda Valve Springs
Crower Retainers
Skunk 2 Stage 2 Cams
JG Victor X Manifold
Borded GSR Block (1.9 liter)
Wisco Forged Pistons
Eagle Rods
etc....

But every time I punch it it spudders right at vtec and pulls really hard at 7 RPM, like it lags but when it lags it should spudder right??? i replaced my oil pump and water pump...new injectors and fuel rail, could it be that its not connected to the stock fuel filter? the STR fuel rail came with a larger fuel hose that has a micro fuel filter in it and it ran off to another hose any suggestions?

your stock fuel pump is fine and your upgraded fuel rail isn't necessary. hopefully you're not running monster sized injectors. but if your injectors are appropriately sized, it sounds like ignition timing is off at vtec crossover. what engine management are you using?

well it definitely sounds like you've got sufficient fuel... plugs aren't fouled up or anything???

Yep. Check the spark plugs. I had that happen to me last time and it ended up being one of the plugs.
Fixed it and my car ran like a champ after that.

<----- can't figure out why it's so hard to spell VTEC. it's not v-tech (the phone), and it's not v-tec.

It's on cars, valve covers, everywhere as VTEC.

check plugs and if they're good get your hands on some BG 44k to put in the tank. good stuff.

lol...I have to first laugh that you corrected yourself on the spelling of VTEC once...and then spelled it wrong twice after that...then noticed that you didn't spell solenoid right even though VTEC is much easier to spell that solenoid. Sorry...it's just a funny thing I noticed. Not trying to rag on you too much...It was just hilarious to me.

But to try to answer your question with more questions:

Who built/swapped/setup your engine? (if the answer is you, move on to question 2. If the answer is "someone else", then take it back to that someone else and ignore all the other questions. Tell them to fix it.)

Who tuned your engine? (If the answer is "nobody", then there's a huge red flag)

Why were you in VTEC for a long time on your trip? High RPMs or is your VTEC just set very low?

What is the "etc" in your list of mods?

What engine management are you running? (If your answer is "stock ECU", then that's a huge issue as well).

For an issue such as this, Honda-tech is probably a REALLY BAD place to come for answers. Chances are nobody on here has driven your car. This means that nobody can truly experience the problem you are having. The problem now becomes an interpretation of what YOU think is happening. Bad idea. You have to be able to DIAGNOSE a car to fix it correctly. A vague driveability issue such as yours could be caused by about 1 billion things. Or a combination of 1 billion things paired with another 1 billion things...making for 1billion to the 1billionth power of things.

Take it to a place that can fix it after driving and diagnosing it. Find a good, reputable shop near you that deals with this stuff. Go there. Pay them. Drive your car and be happy.

Or...you can not take my advice, try to find answers on here, throw a bunch of parts at the car, spend a shitload of $$, spend a shitload of time, and still find no answers.

Here's a true story. There was a guy on here who had some kind of intermittent issue with his car. So he figured "I dont have money to take it somewhere" and proceded to seemingly BLINDLY throw replacement parts at the car; starting off with spark plugs, going to fuel rails, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, etc etc....

The problem was a loose battery terminal.

Go somewhere and have it fixed if you dont have the ability to diagnose it yourself.

from the sounds of it, could just be a really bad tune. get someone to follow you and run up to the spot where it stutters and get them to tell you if it smells like unburnt fuel. crude, but if its dumping enough fuel into the motor to make it hesitate than it could probably be smelt.

VTEC doesn't nessecarily have to be higher. The fuel curve just needs to be correct for his mods.
