Sprint Hart Dunlop Cp-r's 15x7.5 on an EK: Widest tire possible?
***Before someone kicks my ***, yes, I did search and didn't find exactly what I was looking for***
I just picked up this set of Dunlop Cp-r's for my 96' EK hatch with ITR five lug changeover and wanted to know if I could run 205's on these wheels. They are 15x7.5 with a 40mm offset. I knew ahead of time that they are probably going to rub but I couldn't resist buying these. What I want to know is will 205's work or will I have to get 195's? Thanks all.

sick *** rims, i know for sure you can fit a 225 width tire, you may want to do a 225 front 205 rear setup to corner better if you want..

you wont be able to run 215's without rubbing . i rub with 205s.....but that also depends on your drop...

wtf..
I APOLOGIZE
im being antagonistic today
but wtf, you buy a SEVEN AND A HALF
wide wheel.. and think you'll need 195's!??
195's come on 6 inch wide wheels man.
205's fit perfectly on a seven
i've seen one or two people only ever running a 7.5 on a civ/teg, and i'm sure they were rubbing like ****. I think they had 205's
you could run 225's on those wheels if you wanted man
215-45-15 toyos would be a good tire to put on those.
nice lowpro sidewall, and very wide contact patch, grippy compound.

Re: (Tad)
he didn't get those to race on.
he got 'em to boulevard pimp on.
that said, don't put anything smaller than a 205 on them, unless you're into that tire stretching euro idiocy.
ideally, put some 225/45-15s on there and don't be so lame.

Re: (SkyeC)
**** my fault. I've been running on my ITR wheels so long that I just got used to the number 195. I also have 7 inch wide RG's and they don't rub at all so I bought these 7.5's thinking what the hell, it's only half an inch longer. Oh well.

Stock SI wheels have a 45 mm offset. My friend used 205/50 15 on it with no rub and 1.8 drop. I have a set or Rota C-8's with a 38 mm offset and the factory SI tire size 195/55/15 comes real close to the rear outer fender lip, so im my case a 205/50 will rub in the back of my car. Just something for you to think about.
Good luck,

Not at all. I got it from HausofImports shipped for 1350.00, they have another set for sale albeit in 16x8 though and 5x114.3. Too wide for ITR's or CTR's but damn nice.

But this guy has only 5mm less offset on wheels that are 1.5" wider, meaning the insides of his wheels are that much closer to intefering with his suspension and whatnot.
15x7.5" +40 is just a tad too wide with a tad too much offset on a Civic, IMO. Some very small spacers might work though; there's guys here in Japan who run the R32 GTR wheels on EK9's because they're 8" wide, but they're +30 ET, I beleive, and they probably stick out an inch from the fenders.

Get some 205 azenis they will fit great on a 7.5inch rim. They are close to a lot of companies 215 size wheel. I am running 15x7 with a 40mm offset with no rubbing problems but its pretty damned close....

This was the tire that I had in mind when I purchased these wheels. I hope they won't rub too bad. My car isn't lowered too aggressively so we'll see how bad it is.
