Springs & Struts are in, next step?
Hey,
I just put in my new springs and struts and the car rides perfect.
Since I am not sure that I am staying with my motor, I'm gonna
build as sick a suspension as I can. What would be the next step
the next upgrade (suspension-wise) that is a good buy for a buck
and will make a difference. Car is 1997 EX btw

Re: Springs & Struts are in, next step? (RangerDan)
I installed Tokico Illuminas and High Performance Springs 1.75" front and back.
My only gripe is that in the front its a 2 finger gap, and in the back its like a
.75 finger gap. I hope the front settles. If not, Might have to take drastic means
such as throwing in an h22.
Anyway I will be in the market for new wheels since all I have are 18s that i used
to have on my automatic (was a phase, dont ask). Any recommendations?

Camber kit if needed
Rear disc conv. if needed
Pads
Braces
Tie/sway bars
Most importantly is prolly lightweight wheels/tires
BTW by bushings he means all the bushings in your suspension not bump-stops, but this would be a last step IMO. Too much labor intensive for the slights improvements

yeah, you might as well get new wheels and tires...size depends on you along with color and style. but something wide enough also around 7 inches. nice tires help too, and are the most improving thing you can do on suspension in my opinion.

the es bushings made a huge difference. just put the hyperflex kit in along with trailing arms. sooo much nicer

Alot of road racers say you should not replace OEM bushings with urethane ones such as ES and Prothane. The reason is that the urethane does not act the way honda designed the suspension componets to move and rotate. If you search, you will find some info on this subject. Take it for what its worth.

Comptech makes a nice peice that is a swabar/tiebar combo. Another good kit is the beaks kit that uses an Integra R 22 mm swayber. It is a complete kit with subframe reinforcments. http://beaksproducts.com/
