Default springs and bolts for ITR headers

did a search and couldnt find anything i want..i have recently installed the 98ITR headers on my b16 civic with a 2.5" exhaust with no cat and a test pipe in place..everything went well..except the spring and bolts that connects the headers to the exhaust are way too tight for comfort..so my questions are:

1)will 98typeR teg spring and bolts have a better fit??

2)will b18 dc2 spring and bolts fit??

3)Or should i cut abit of coils of the spring so it wont be so damn tight??

would really apprecaite any help..as i want to get this done by friday..paranoid that something would bend or crack

cheers

The spring should not be bottomed out. Because there needs to be some space when the engine rocks back and forth.

You will be able to find what you need here. http://www.acuraparts247.com

I admit those parts sites took me a while to get the hang of too.

Is this what you are looking for.
item 20, 22 and 31

http://www.acuraparts247.com/s...ch=no

Note* This is for the usdm ITR. So the header is different than the jdm 4-2 but the springs and bolts should be the same. Actually you may only need the bolts and you can reuse the springs and nuts.

OK here the facts:

He has a JDM EK4 SiR with a B16a. Now he just fitted some ITR 98 spec 4-1 headers. Currently the header is bolted to where the cat flange should be with the SiR bolts and springs. We were told the EK4 springs are too long but they used them anyway and it looks like the springs are compressed way too much therefore not allowing any flex.

Should he:
Cut the EK4 springs down a little to make them shorter?

Buy some ITR springs which are shorter?

Use JDM DC2 springs? Dont know if they are the same as ITR ones?

Also we couldnt get the Ek4 factory header bracket to bolt onto the ITR headers. Would it be ok to just not use that bracket?Ive seen some ITR 4-1 headers on B16a's without using the bracket. Would a ITR bracket fit onto a EK4? I think im talking about part 12??? You know the bracket that holds the headers onto the engine?

Cheers

i thought that the spring is there to give it some sort of flex when the engine rocks back and forth..
have you had any problems with your exhaust and headers with no spring in place?? and how long have you had this setup without springs??

haven't been runing it for long, but if you think about it, the stock muffler used springs on it's bolts too, but when you buy a new exhaust system you don't use them anymore

Just just checked the springs where the headers bolt onto the test pipe. The springs are TIGHT as. The coils are almost touching. I cant really see that flexing much
