Default springs

i'm looking at getting new springs, but the smallest drop i can find is 1 1/2". there must be something wrong with the stock suspension becuase there is about a 1/2" gap in the rear, and a 2 1/2" gap in front. if i have people in the backseat stock wheels and normal sized tires rub. a 1 1/2" drop, reguardless of how stiff it is, has to rub. unless the rear is shot and shouldn't be that low.

can anyone clarify that the rear shouldn't be that low on stock wheels.

i'd like stiffer springs, but maybe i'll just stick with cutting the front ones. the front is looking rediculous.

Have you ever considered that perhaps your rear shocks are shot? You can't tell by looking at your car that something isn't right?

i never paid attention.. i always assumed my friends were fat... putting 300-450 in the backseat. didn't know if all civics would have rubbed.. they don't feel shot with just me in it. plus it's a really good excuse for me not to drive friends around. that and no dogs allowed rule. my only concern is that the drop would be impossible.

Are you saying you only have a 1/2" gap in the back with NOBODY in it?

Push down on the back of the car. Don't jump on it. You'll **** it off. If it rebounds more than once then the shocks are definately shot. Forget about how fluid it is. That really doesn't mean anything.

ok... there is a 1 1/2" gap on one side, and a 1" gap on the other. the car doesnt move much from the initial spring back up.

That's pretty messed up. So either you have some mismatched springs on the back, the stock ones were cut by someone that didn't know what they're doing, or...I don't know what else it could be. More help in here?

Did u buy the car like that or did the previous owner mess with the suspension. The only time my car rubbed when it was stock is when i had people in the back and that was it. Now i lowered it about 1.2 in the front and in the 1.5 in the back. the car rubs in the front if i hit a big bump and the back it rubs when my sharp turns but then again i have stock shocks. Its going to rub regardsless if u drop but to reduce the rubbing go with some good aftermarket shocks with a stiff setting and go with som tie bars. U get 350-45lbs homies in the back ofcourse its going to rub put them on a DIET!!!!! Go with eibach pro kit 1.2" thats all i got to say.

I just sent a message to a moderator to change the thread title so you can maybe get a little more help. I'm sure he'll take care of it whenever he gets online. Don't be so vague with your title next time.

cool thanks.. it's the mystery of why each wheel has a different fender clearing, but the car feels fine.
