Default Spring Rates for Teins

I am looking into getting some Tein SSs with possible spring rates of 448 +-112 in front and 224 +112 -54 in the rears (please check those numbers). The coilovers will also be configured to drop the car around 1.75 in front and 1.5 in the rear give or take. This will be my first major mod, although I have plans for a ls/vtec swap and turbo. What spring rates would make the most sense for my 98 daily driver Coupe?

I would like to try my hand at auto-x on the weekends, and maybe a little drag once I have the swap in, but 90% of the time will be spent driving around town, and perhaps a road trip or two. I am looking for something that will be reasonably nice on the road and still handle well on the track. I know that its hard to have both, but I want to get as much of this right the first time so that I won't have to buy a new suspension in a year.

Any help is appreciated. I was thinking 450/300 ... would that be too stiff?

ttt

anyone? Took a dip in the autoX forum, and it seems that some of them recommend 400/300 for street and weekend autoX.

You can't custom order TEIN spring rates. you will have to buy the SS's and thenm buy a new set of springs. the springs that they come with are fine for the occasioanl auto-x

Why does the Tein site list + and - values for the springs if you cannot custom order them? What do these values mean?

Yes, Tein says you can go up or down 2kg in spring rates when keeping with the OTS valveing. If want to go any stiffer you will have to get Tein to revalve them for you.

I didn't say you coudl not put stiffer springs on I said they don';t come withy the SS and my experience is you can't custom order the spring rates. YOU get the SS and then spend $200 more for new springs.

The rates for the SS is clearly stated and the range is shown right next to it.
