spoon valve springs - very concerned
this comment has been made by a highy respected tuner over here in the u.k.
"To fit the spoon springs you will need to have your cylinder head machined as they catch on the castings of the head, if you don't do this expect to drop a couple of valves. "
ive ordered them already so very worried. these are for a totally stock b16a2 in which im having 2001 itr cams put in. rev limit will be no more than 8800rpm.
anyone on hear know about this ?

Ha! No... I can't imagine any valve spring from any company doing this. Valve springs are designed to be factory replacements, not something that you have to pull the head off and take it to the machine shop.
I disagree with your tuner friend.
What cams and retainers are you using with the spoon springs?

I would have to say no - to having to machine the head. if you wish to verify by a professional you can email a&j racing...their website is http://www.aj-racing.com & generally reply within a day or two. they have been selling spoon products for MANY years
