why would someone need support for a power supply? Also what is needed to enable data logging. It looks pretty straight forward on the p28, but im not sure about the p30. Do I need to remove j4*i think*?

heh, not power supply support. I meant support for the internal power supply that supplies power to the chip. Adding additional load to the internal structure of the ECU tends to create additional load on the power supply which the caps will help smooth out.
Datalogging for Crome? I highly doubt you can datalog with the present chip.

I agree. you can save the bin and start cut and pasteing onto another p30 base with RTP and your other goodies for dataloging. what were you planing on using to do this data log? Crome? EcuControl?

Really I wanted it so I can get a wbO2 and fine tune my a/f. I'm a beginner and want to start somewhere. This chip right now is making my car run like ****. Up high its all good but down low it loads up real bad. So you think Ill be fine getting a Moates Burn1 chip burner with an sst chip, open a new bin in crome(it says JDM p30) and burn it on the chip? Also would I need the caps if I wanted to add 2 step and maybe shift light?

the P30 idea is the best move. the caps are optional, if you want to put them in you can, but as long as you don't see any problems you're fine without them.
As far as the existing chip, please post it in the PGMFI thread when you get the burn1. Someone can convert the maps so you can use them if you want. (I should be able to do it as well)
Maybe a setup with the stock P30 lower end with the spoon higher end...
