Spoon civic, 370 WHP N/A with 16k REDLINE?
My friend told me that the Spoon civic in Gran Turismo makes 370 WHP N/A with a 16,000 redline? And its a real simulator based on real cars that were made.
Is that even possible? I find that kinda hard to believe because isn't the most powerful 4 cylinder pumping out only like 260 WHP with some crazy high compression that you can't use pump gas?

Thats funny, I was just playing Gran Turismo 3 today and won the Spoon Civic hatch. I modified it to 325hp(minus balancing) and your right, it had a 16k redline???? Ive never heard of that??? mabye im wrong...
The strange thing about it, is that it starts very slowly!!! Too slow, even a 120hp Beetle started quicker!!! even with the shorter gear ratios...

My Type R has a 20k redline and 475whp N/A... In real life... Beat that.

Most real spoon motors make less than 200whp. The majority of them are just balanced and blue printed jdm itr blocks with ported head, and spoon cams and cam gears. They don't rev past stock redline..they are very mild but very reliable. They use soft rings for race use. But they need to be rebuilt often..Also the clearances are left a little on the loose side, to make the maximum amount of power..

Man, video games are false because the best time I could get on my stock Integra Type R was like a 16, where in real life they hit mid to low 14's !

Soooooo, I'm assuming you didn't consider what would be needed to run 14,000+ rpm on a regular basis in a motor... other than superbikes (they need to be rebuilt more often than you realize)... They are called pneumatic valves.
Formula 1 cars have been using them since the early 90's. There are no metal valve springs as they fail at extremely high rpm (16,000+ rpm). Instead, air does the work. This has allowed Ferrari, BMW, and Mercedes (Ilmor) to get their motors to spin to 18,000+ rpm... Some even hint at 20,000 for short bursts!
Thus, to answer your question, stop playing games and go to an SCCA or NASA autocross and really learn to drive. Race on the track, not the street.

I think the 16,000 rpm redline must be a glitch in the game. But its still sweet being able to go up to 16 K

16,000? None of the Civic's I have in neither Gran Tourismo I, nor Gran Tourismo II redline even close to that number.
