SPOON air filter
How does a spoon air filter help for a stock EK civic?
is there any minimal power gains?
does it work better than stock?
does it sound louder?
Can I clean it and reuse & reuse it after it gets dirty?
this is the filter for the EK

Re: SPOON air filter (DxHatchback)
most places removing the resonator is illegal right? and dont expect much from a filter, just be happy knowing that your car is getting the cleanest air possible

Re: SPOON air filter (DxHatchback)
i noticed a difference in sound with my K&N drop in (no resonater)
if it is a D16Y7, the resonator is not behind the bumper but rather in the engine bay itself, the big black box.

Resonator is not illegal to remove to the best of my knowledge. In fact, in my helms it states that it is for sound deadening purposes. Not that we didn't know that, but this "prooves" it for those who care.
Maybe you're thinking of your catalytic converter which is illegal to remove.

Re: SPOON air filter (EK Vi-RS)
if u want loud... get a short ram intake tube with a cone-filter... or even a CAI system.
ur not gonna get much (if any) hp with just a filter
i like the sound a short ram intake makes... nice deep grumble.

and i have the same engine as yours, 106HP D16Y7

If you want a foam filter, get the Power Filter 2 by Monster Sport - they make the Spoon, GReddy Airinx and a host of others. I used to have one in my Si

Same thing, but cheaper - AJ Racing and JDMSpecPerformance should have them.
