That depends on the areas you drive through. I have it on my 98 hatch, but I took it off my CRX since I work on it more often and it only gets in the way.

Im not sure what your talking about but if your talking about the splash guard in your fenderwell i would say most deffinatly. Everytime i go mudboggin in my hatch mud shoots up into my bay on the drivers side and runs out the exterior of my fender from the corner lens. On the rear of that well it shoots between the the fender and the door and you can see like 3 inches of **** when you open the door...

that is for the front fender lol... Are you talking about the part from your bumper back that is under the engine bay??? I dont see why you would want to remove it?
and i like how you say its connected with 10mm bolts and such...You just described every part on a honda lol. its all 8,10, or 12 lol..

The bottom of the front bumper that connects to the radiator support? If thats the case why would you want to cut it off? If thats the part you are talking about it will save you if you drive a little over a parking block and decide to back up. Without those bolts in place you would rip the bumper backing up. Thats of course, if that is the part you are talking about.

No, it isn't "necessary" per se. However, it will obviously work to protect the engine bay from water and debris, as well as helping to smooth the airflow beneath the vehicle.

IMO if you cant see it from the outside of the vehicle without having to pop your hood or get on the ground and look under the car just leave it there.
